Story

Hi, I’m Mariska Breland, the inventor of the Fuse Ladder.

I never set out to be an inventor, but necessity is the mother of invention, and as the founder and lead instructor at the popular Fuse Pilates studios in Washington, DC, I saw a huge need for a single piece of equipment that could deliver exciting and accessible workouts to students of all abilities.

I started brainstorming an apparatus with barres, springs, and poured months into creating unique and challenging exercises to do on it. Then, I began working with my Fuse Pilates business partner Roxanna Hakimi, who teamed up with local artisans to build a prototype. Soon after, the first Fuse Ladder was born.

This smart and effective total-body apparatus is sleek, space-saving, and affordable. It's also insanely fun. Fuse Ladder classes debuted at Fuse Pilates in DC in 2016, and demand grew quickly thanks to national media coverage touting it as one of the most innovative workouts in America.

The Fuse Ladder is now in homes and studios around the world, from India and Singapore to Canada, Australia, the USA. I can’t wait for you to experience it — click here to find a class near you or order a Fuse Ladder for your own home or studio!
